Elec. Guitar in Church
I'm a veteran elec. guitar player. I've played in clubs for 30+ years. I play a Strat or Tele thru an Alessandro Working Dog amp. My tone is very good, and I can play soft or loud. Here's my challenge...How to get my elec. guitar to fit in with our large Praise & Worship team at church. We've got 20-25 singers in a choir, a brass section (3 trumpets, 2-3 trombones, 1-2 saxes), a grand piano, 1-2 elec. keyboards, elec. drums, elec. bass, accoustic and elec. guitar. It seems to me that the body of tone, for which I have worked for years to obtain, is out of place. For example, a thin, compressed, needle-like lead tone works as does a tinkly accoustic sound. I'm a good elec. player and I just don't care to ruin my tone with so many effects, and I'm all tube - no transistors. Must I forget all that I have learned and go for a highy synthetic tone to fit-in with the P&W team? Thanks,Killian
