Hi Melissa!I am in a similar situation, except at a school. I am a teacher and have been trying for several years to get the teens her to form a Christian group of one kind or another. Hopefully, this will become reality next week as a group goes and talks to the principal and presents them with the club charter.
Anyways, in trying to get things started, a local youth minister came in last week and had some profound words that I thought might be of some encouragement. He said not to worry about numbers. I noticed in your post that you metnioned several times about few people. Perhaps, rather than go for a huge group, you could concentrate on the few taht are there. Work on being the best Christians you can be. Meet with each other for bible study and prayer, but also go and have fun together, providing positive influences for each other and those you are around. YOu may never get to your dream of having a big, dynamic group, but that's okay, you may be better off. I've seen many that are large and have lots of activities but many of the youth there are totally uninterested in spiritual matters and are only there for the fun. While it's great that they are at least in church, I personally feel that it sometimes hurts the development of younger Christains who are not mature in there faith. So focus on the quality of your group and don't worry about the quantity. God will work through you and take care of that.
You will be in my prayers.
