Re: Rear vs Front Projection
Message:Mark, What are you using for your rear projection screen? I am assuming your dissapointment is in regard to Black Levels, which can be the result of many things. projector specs lower than a 2000:1 ratio are usually disapointing in any case. Rear projection should give you the best results if your screen has as close to "0" gain as possible on the projection side. Ambient light on the viewing side and reflected light on the projection side can also effect black levels. Also we all have a tendency to push the lumens to the limit to get the largest image size possible. The furthur the screen is from the projector, the less crisp contrast you get (black levels and color brightness). Give us some more detail: Projector lumens/ and contrast ratio? Distance to the screen and size of image? Screen material and tint? Ambient light? Image resolution?I manufacture rear projection screens. Paul Jackman
