Message:I lean to the No side. You can easily involve children in worship all through their growing years. Sunday school, youth worship team, or youth praise band are easily done. I would consider allowing High School age kids to participate on the adult worship team, but only if they agree to be mentored by an older adult, willing to mentor them. Such a process is good for the Paul and good for the Timothy. There are several examples of rites of passage that allow children to mark their growth. These are gone if the children are treated as if they were already adults. Additionally, if your worship team exists for just music, then you miss a lot of opportunity for deeper relationships. IMHO, worship team should be a small group, and include bible study, and "caring and sharing" time. It does not take much imagination to see that there are things that could be shared among adults that would be most inappropriate for children to hear. I hear the "it is a good influence for them" argument used for allowing unbelievers on worship team as well. That doesn't wash either.
