Message:I am Christian and my friend is a disfellowshipped JW. We met on the internet a few years ago in a message forum for American Idol...lol (just to give you a history of us) it seemed we had a lot in common and she only lived one state away so after a year we met. We email everyday and call each other a few times a week. We have been that close for over a year. I thought we had a lot in common until just recently she said she wanted to get back involved with the Jehovah Witnesses. Since then alot of differences have been coming up and we have been arguing about them. I thought if we didn't talk about religion we could still be friends but it almost seems impossible when everything revolves around it. Like we talked about celebrating her daughter's bday and the 4th of July and how she was against it. We also talked about how she is treated by the church and other witnesses b/c she is disfellowshipped. I told her I did NOT agree with that treatment. I explained to her that GOD loves her and would never forsake her. I also told her that only GOD can judge. I have been trying to educate her on the differences by showing her scriptures from the bible and answering her questions. She says it doesn't make sense how God can be 3 people and that is her biggest problem is the trinity. She is supposed to come and visit me for the first time in a few weeks. Anyways to make a long story short, today she told me that she thinks we should part ways b/c there is too many differences. That bugs me. She would be the perfect friend if it weren't for this.
