What I should Wear to Church- GOD
Thank you for the article and the teaching. I am a minister at my church. Before I yielding to the call to preach god's Word. I wore a different uniform every Sunday. Whether I Ushered, Sang on the Choir, or sat in on Steward Board on the 1st Sunday I it was okay. But after I started preaching, I had a problem with my clothing. I never knew or felt that I dressed appropiately. This article shed some light on my feelings. In no way was I dressing to be a man either! I love my cute dresses and Who God has made to be; A Beautiful Black Women.

It seems like a case of me, me, me!
If we dress for God we should wear our best. However, it seems like, now, it's about how "I feel" when I get dressed. "I want to be comfortable when I go to church," is heard around the congregations now. We are a royal priesthood who seek to dress like thugs or hoochie-mamas in church. We can dress up for a party, a concert, for Halloween and even the military, but we can't dress up for God. It is all where our heart is. As I go to praise the best, I desire to present myself as one standing before him on holy ground. I look forward to dressing up for God and not for me. I look forward to praising him- looking my best for him "inside and out". But we as Christian are excusing many things in the church now. And this is just one more thing. Whatever happened to disicpline and dedication. The devil is creeping into our church to let Tommy Hilfiger, FUBU,Avirex, Old Navy, Nike, Timberland, tatoos, gold earrings, etc. become the dress code of the church. We will say we are praising G-o-d, but it will be with an N-Y-T attitude. We are on a slippery slope and I care not to stand at the edge. My final thought is just a repeat. We should not go to church dressed for "our leisure", but instead we should go for "God's pleasure". Remember 2 Timothy, chapter 3. We will be lover's of ourselves. Agape'.
