I Identify with Doras
It was such a delight to read this article by Debbie which reminded me that each of us has a special God given talent and when we share it, it becomes a blessing to others. I identify with Doras because of my high energy, compassion and my years of sewing clothes for family and friends to help make their special occassions, extra special as my gift to them and joy to me. I look forward to presenting "Dorcas" to my women's Bible study group to stress the fact that God will use our good works not only to benefit others but to bring praise and glory to our Father.

Thank you, more than words can say
I just want to thank you this morning. I lead a womens bible study for my church (full gospel) and while searching for content on Dorcas, I came across your article. I have been somewhat discouraged recently in my ministry, and my heart hasn't been right. You have encouraged me this morning, and tweaked my perspective. Thank you so much! I want to share your words with the women this morning :) They are profound!

Dorcas made my day
Dear Debbi,

Thank you so much for the uplifting story of Dorcas and your insights!

I came home exhausted from helping a sister in Christ who has needed much help lately. Frankly, my firends and husband have suggested it has become a drain.

This lady has had a string of bad things happen and is on the verge of a turnaround -- and she loves the Lord. I have promised to be her supporter and helper in times of need. I bet Dorcas had widows who asked for a cloak and then needed a meal and a ride to the doctor after that. I bet she didn't say "No" to them either.

Thank you for helping me see that I truly am loving my neighbor. And as the Lord said, as I do unto the least of these, I am doing it to Jesus Himself. Would you tell Jesus that a cloak was all you had time to do this week and you can't feed Him and your family, too? NO, you'd share what you have out of the excess of God's bountiful provision. God says, see if the heavens won't spill out more provisions than you can imagine.

Your sister in Christ,
Christy Anne Vaughan

I am encouraged!
I was truly blessed by this article. It really encouraged me today as I was looking for something to share in our Women's group this week, and I came across this article which really spoke to me. I recently started up the Women's group in my church and its been a struggle but such a blessing. I had originally intended it to be a Young Ladies Ministry but there was no Women's ministry and Women in the church were interested in being apart of our meeting so I just merged the two. The only thing is now I'm having trouble getting the younger ladies to come out to our meetings. Sometimes I split it up and just call for the young ladies but even then I don't get their full support. I would love to hear your input on the subject if you get a moment. I really want this to work out for both our younger and older ladies.

Discovering Dorcas
I just discovered Dorcas, a few weeks ago and since then I have been intrigued with her name and her testimony. The one thing that spoke volumes was the bible referred to her as a Disciple. I don’t recall many women being called a disciple in the bible??? So this morning I decided to look on the Internet to see what’s out there and to my amazement I found your study. Praise God for your beautiful illustration of what it means to be a woman in ministry I am determined more than ever to move out in the ministry God is birthing in me.

God Bless You

Gods gift
hello, I just read your study on Dorcas and it was so beautiful. I work with girls at a teen challange center called Candle house. There is a girl there her name is Tabatha. She has come out of abuse . She desires God so much. She loves to praise dance.I neede a way for her to know her name holds great importance to God. Praise God I found it through your study. I started ministering at candle house in march. I too hated my name until I saw and really undestood what it meant.I came out of abuse and torment. God has done so much for me. I am a worship leader at our church. I love music. God has given me songs. My goal is to work with girls who have come from abuse and rejection to show them who they are in Christ Jesus.because of the power of God in my life and that God has set me free from so much. I want to use my past as a stepping stone for my future to minister Gods divine love and healing into women lives all over the world. so please pray for me as God does a work in my life to ready me for the vision placed before me. I have prayed for God to make me an example and to expose my heart that there be no hidden sin in it but that it will be pure and clean before a most precious God my Redemmer and my Friend, my God , myHealer, my husband( even tho I got one) God is the main Husband in my life , May God bless you and through the grace of God I will hear from you, your servant and sister in Christ, Jane Carley
