Psalm 89:2 "I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself."
In reminiscing about past years of my life, I have never once seen a day when there was no sunrise, a storm that didn't eventually blow over, or a Spring that didn't eventually arrive after a harsh Winter. If nature can bear witness to the faithfulness of God, how much more can we be sure that His love will always be there for us? If nothing else in the world inspires you to worship God, surely creation in all its stark beauty erases all doubt concerning God's ability to take care of you. I wonder why Jesus mentioned the Father's concern over the lilies of the field? If I were to pick a flower that would merit concern, my personal favorite would be the rose. Perhaps He did so because His concern is not only for the beautiful, but also the plain and the common.
