Love them anyway.
If someone wants to shout to the Lord, let them. It's kind of ironic that one of the most popular songs within the Church is 'Shout to the Lord', yet we look down on people and judge them when they do just that. Maybe you, me, and everyone else thinks they are putting on a show. We don't know their heart, or what trials they have just come through. Only God knows their heart, and only God can pass judgement on them. That's not our job. Our job is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. I know I've just paraphrased a verse that all of us have heard a million times, but if we really did this, would we even notice what everyone else was doing? Our second duty is to love others, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ, because it is by this love that the world will know us as Jesus' disciples.

In Spirit and Truth
I have been an assistent Worship Leader and Worship Leader for over 7 years. My purpose in this life and the next is to Worship God ONLY!! I have come under much scrutiny for Worshiping Our Lord exhuberantly. As the Spirit of God leads me I have sang, shouted, stomped, pounded walls, danced, jumped, raised hands, cried, fallen on my knees, and kissed the Lord. Onlookers (who's focus is not on Jesus during Worship) have not only spoken behind my back but also have spoken to me about 'how' I worship God. My answer is and always will be...I Worship Our Lord in Spirit and Truth for those are the one's He seeks to Worship Him and He will expect nothing less. Amen!!

David abandoned himself to Worship God with all that He was..no matter what anyone thought. Also, I am blessed by what Paul said in Galatians 1:10....if I am pleasing men I can not be Christ's servant.

I pray that the Spirit of the Living God would release people to Worship without insecurities, criticisms, pride, and anything else that would hinder them to WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH. In Jesus' name..AMEN

Thank you for the article.
Abundant blessings,
Paula

Shout of praise?or outburst?
I lead worship in our congregation and although we don't prohibit people from shouting during praise and worship, we also don't teach that it is always the proper response. You may be distracting another person and taking from their time of worship by expressing yourself that way. There are other ways of expressing your Love to Him (standing, lifting your hands, kneeling, etc.), as well as other times. Corporate worship is just that, and I feel we need to be sensitive to the needs of others during that time. That's not to say that during our worship service folks don't sing out personal thoughts to the Lord, but it's not shouted out so everyone in the building can hear it. Besides, who is the praise for? He could hear it if you didn't even speak...........

Praise
Why do people get so bent out of place when there is a praise offered up to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in our worship services???? We don't hestitate when we are at an athletic event or a concert to cheer on those involved in front of us. And yet when it comes time to assemble ourselves in a place of worship we get all uncomfortable when someone raises their voice to magnify God and worhip the Creator nof all things. "If the rocks cry out" If the Earth make it noise of praise to the Creator then why can't we as humans- the best that God has created praise Him?????
Yes I know there are different ways to praise Him and that mediatorial worship is in order and decent but one needs to go back in Church History to see how it was doner in the Early Church and the 2nd and 3rd centuries to see where we get our liturgical worship from. Is it anything like what it was or what it should be????
What if all of Heaven depended on YOU to praise GOD would it be sufficient????

worship leader
I love worship. I am a worship leader in our assembly and last sun. as I was leading the people in song the power of God hit me and I was on the floor.nobody was playing and afterwards the pastor said that I could control myself. If you have ever been hit by God's power you know that you can't control anything, music leader or not. Should I have told God to not bother me as i a job to do?

I believe a shout is what we need!
I believe that a shout is what we need. We have much to praise the Lord Our God, for. He takes great delight in our praise. "Sing to the Lord a new song." Psalm 149:1 Our songs are getting old, it is time to sing to him a "New Song" and if you must shout, then shout for joy!!!

Interesting thought indeed!
That's true, its funny how people focus on the judgements of other Christians rather than on God and getting so wrapped in his glory that you want to shout!
