Impressed or Influenced to change?
I really enjoy reading and hearing you concerned for bringing others to worship. My desire is to help others worship and experience the awsomeness of God when we worship. I'm on the Praise and Worship Team and on the Worship Dance Team at our church. Worship is a Lifestyle. I remember a pastors words while preaching and I use them. I don't want to impress anyone with my worship, I want to influence others into their own worship experience.Impressions are emotional and short lived, influences produce permanent change, even if it's suttle.

Where is the heart in art?
In my humble opinion, the word "art" is sometimes used to justify being picky and precise. In reality, art occurs when the expression comes from the heart of the one producing the work. Art is a level above learning notes and cleaning rhythms in music.

Isn't that what we want - Mark 12:33 says, "And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is far more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices."

When we get too busy in the production elements, we really do miss out on the "art."

the heart of worship
I have been a musician all my life. but until I realized that worship had nothing to do with music at all, did I really begin the journey to learning what worship is all about. It is a heart issue. God wants a worshipper who adores Him, and chooses to bow their hearts to Him. I could play the violin or sing a song, and people could say, How Beautiful, but my God would not be pleased if my heart was not pleasing to Him. I have heard some musicians who may not be as talented as others, but who have a heart for the Lord and they minister mch more to me, because you know that their sole purpose is to glorify their God. Art is used only as a tool to worship- the heart is what is the most important thing. I agree wholeheartedly with this article.

I totally agree with you!
This article is one of your best. Keep up this good work that God has called you to -- that of teaching people how to truly worship our Lord. Your web site is one of the best I have seen and it gets better all the time.
