Great CD
Last year I've purchased the MP3 version of the album from the iTunes Music Store. Since then, this is still on my Ipod and I've been listening hundreds of times. The music is really great and Chris is so gifted in crafting modern and captivating melodies with deep "non-religious" lyrics making this album a blessing for both the personal and corporate times of worship. A must to have!! Thanks Chris!

"The Way I Was Made"
I've been reading Chris Tomlin's recent book "The Way I Was Made: Words and Music for an Unusual Life." It is a good little book. Very simple and down-to-earth style. Chris gives readers a window into both his personal journey with humble beginnings in a small Texas town to internationally known worship leader and songwriter. He also shares faith reflections and personal insights into the inspiration behind some of his most popular praise songs. A good, quick read that every worship leader and worship team member should check out. Matt Redman's "Unquenchable Worshipper" is also very good, and a bit more in-depth.

Great Music, okay lyrics
I have Chris Tomlin's "Arriving" in my car CD changer where it has been getting quite a bit of play in recent weeks... The musical quality is great- from the awe-inspiring majesty of "Indescribable," or down-on-your knees worshipful praise of "Holy is the Lord," to the gospel choir pop-rock feel of "On Our Side," I really enjoy it musically. Many of the lyrics are taken from or based on scripture- "Indescribable" and "Holy is the Lord" are based on Psalms, "On Our Side" is based on that passage from Romans 8... He could afford to substitute some more interesting adjectives in there besides "awesome and great" on occasion, but keeping it simple also makes it more singable for the masses, which is no doubt one of his aims.

Awesome album
I purchased the Arriving album a few months ago and have been totally touched by the depth and richness of the worship that Chris Tomlin presents in his music. I lead worship myself, and have used a fair number of these songs to help bring people I worship with into deeper and more fruitful encounters with the Lord. There is a sense of awe within the stanzas of Tomlin's songs that leave a worshipper bowed low (whether physically or in spirit) before the almighty God they serve. Awesome!

Nice sound, but could have been better
I like Chris Tomlin's music, especially his "Not to Us" CD. This CD has many worthwhile songs, and I'm sure most listeners will be pleased. My disappointment is the lyrical quality. Words like "great" and "awesome" to describe God appear, reappear, and reappear. In this way, the CD is not quite as mature as it could have been. However, this weakness is often offset by the other creative and worshipful aspects of this CD.
