The best album ever made!
I didn't realize how amazing this group was until my girlfriend bought it for me. Then I could not stop listening to it. I have played this c.d. about a million times and every song is always so amazing, so new. It makes you cry when you hear how a group with a true heart to worship God without ever wanting or trying to get any attention on themselves. If I am ever having a day that I am not feeling my usual happy self I just listen to this c.d. and I instantly put into perspective that the most important thing in this life is to worship God. I think that everyone in the world needs to have this c.d. Praise God for great men of God who have a heart to seek Him with all their hearts and use their tallent to know Him and make Him know.

"There's A Reason" (or two) to buy this CD
MercyMe's CD "Spoken For" is truly an excellent album. Lyrically, the messages are direct and simply uplifting, refraining from any ambiguity as to their message, as some "Christian rock" does. Yet there is some very poetic stuff in there as well, like "The Love of God," describing how if the sky was a scroll and the ocean full of ink it still wouldn't be enough to write about God's love. Musically, they produce some very powerful tracks, sometimes with sweet and soft piano lullabies, other times rocking out with soaring, reverbing guitars. They sometimes break the song down to just a vocal or guitar riffs for a few bars ("Come one, Come all","Go") then blast back in with distorted guitars and very full vocal harmony. The rhythm section lays a very solid foundation as well, with interesting syncopations often in the drums and bass. It's a very rich landscape of sound, and I love how they'll be rocking out but still singing beautiful melodies on top. There are great string arrangements also on many of the tracks which are used to color the songs and not to dominate them, which is a great effect. I bought this CD cause I heard "Spoken For" and dug that song, but I was pleasantly surprised that the entire album was so cohesively superb. It truly does have a worship experience feel to it. The album is programmed so that it works its way through dynamic highs and lows, but every song seems to follow the previous one just right. I can imagine how this band could send a crowd into a frenzy... and all with Jesus at the center. I'm definetly hoping to see them live sometime soon.

OKIES!
Not bad for a bunch of OKIES, eh? They are being played on secular radio now as well, and they are blatantly Christian. Great!

Changed my life
Mercy Me's "Spoken For" is the most incredible album that I have ever listened to. The song "I Can Only Imagine" I heard for the fist time at a youth camp last summer in Carlinville. It gave me a new reason to live and a new outlook on my life. Thank you Mercy Me for making my heart beat for the Lord and giving me a new hope and a new heart. God has changed my life forever through your song and I am forever grateful.

MERCY ME - AWESOME!
FIRST OF ALL THIS GROUP IS AWESOME! THEY RECENTLY MADE A STOP AT OUR CHURCH HERE IN WICHITA AND PERFORMED. THEIR NEW SINGLE, "I CAN ONLY IMAGINE" PUTS ME TO TEARS. ONE OF OUR LOCAL "EASY LISTENING" STATIONS PUT A MIX OF THIS SONG AND SOME FILE AUDIO FROM THE RECENTLY CRASHED SPACE SHUTTLE WHICH RESULTED IN A BEAUTIFUL COMBINITION OF MUSIC, MEMORIES, AND SADNESS ALL WRAPPED UP INTO ONE SONG. (BUT OF COURSE, THE D.J. ON THAT STATION ALSO ATTENDS THE SAME CHURCH WHERE MERCY ME JUST PLAYED!) KEEP PRAISING HIM AND MAKING BEAUTIFUL MUSIC! SUSIE C. IN WICHITA
