- Not About Me

If it's not about me, then what is the point? David Glenn's music answers this question. David's mission statement for this album is that life is not to be lived solely for yourself, but it is to be lived in a way that will have an impact for the Kingdom of God.

David's story does not begin with him as a worship leader. Coming from a Christian family that surrounded themselves with music, David found a love for music at a young age. In high school David joined a secular band and traveled extensively on the college circuit. After leaving for college, David realized his motives for music were all wrong. "After a few years of doing it my way, God revealed to me that He had given me a gift and that it should be used to glorify His name, not mine."

After moving to Atlanta in 1997, he developed a grassroots following and has become a local favorite. Glenn has had the opportunity to travel throughout the country and abroad to lead worship at many concerts, conferences, and mission trips. He has shared the stage with multiple Dove award winner, Jennifer Knapp, as well as Jill Phillips and Charles Billingsley. David has also received national reviews in magazines such as Go! Magazine and websites like teens4jesus.com. He also received coverage from cmcentral.com for the song "Come Down" which he co-wrote with Danny Stephens for See You At Pole 2002. The song also appears on David's new CD.

David's new CD Not About Me is passionate and edgy praise and worship music that not only gives glory to God, but also challenges those who listen. Mike Rimmer of Cross Rhythms Magazine says David's music is "...Designed to get you out of your apathetic seat and into a radical life for Christ." Apart from creating challenging and passionate music David adds his unique style to the album. Scotty Wilbanks, former Newsong member and producer of Not About Me adds, "David gives a unique and fresh twist to praise and worship music, blending pop with cool grooves, which accents his unique vocal ability." Glenn recruited players for the album from Newsong and According to John, along with the Passion Band's vocalist Candi Pearson and Heather Mitchell.

David's future shines through with the release of Not About Me. When asked about his goals Glenn responded, "I want to continue writing music that makes an impact on this generation and directs them to the truth, as well as to encourage the church to celebrate life in Christ and share His love with the world."

EXW - David Glenn definitely has a heart for his generation. His music is relevant and edgy. We found his latest project to be a good one that you may want to check out. While you are listening to it consider his other project, "Stand Up", it too has some good cuts as well.
