The Prophecy, Provision, and Purpose

I, even I, am the Lord; And there is no savior besides Me. (Isaiah 43:11, NASB)Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. (Isaiah 43:18-12, 21 KJV)

Isaiah Chapter 43 is so powerful. All through the chapter God is making Himself known; He is letting us know Who He is. There is so much in this chapter, but I want to help somebody today recognize that God has something NEW for you. He is admonishing us to forget what was, and have a mind toward what is to come! God is telling us to not even think about the past. Don't meditate on what used to be. Not only is He telling us He will do a new thing (the prophecy/promise), but He says He will even let us see it. He makes a similar proclamation in Isaiah 42:9. God loves us so much that not only will He make the promise, but He'll show it to us. We can shout on that one because God is a man of His Word. He is watching over His Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12)!

But then there's the provision in verse 19. God says He will make a roadway in the wilderness and run water in the desert. Only God can put water where there is not normally supposed to be water. But we don't serve a "normal" God. He is a supernatural God. If you feel right now you are walking through a wilderness experience, or the streams in your life have run dry, I encourage you to ponder Isaiah 43.

The purpose in all of this is found in verse 21. God says, in essence, "My people will declare My praise." In other words, He will get the glory in all of this. It is not for us to praise our own efforts, but it is all for HIS praise. It is to the praise of HIS glory. I've been there - I know what I'm talking about. I have had to push through by faith alone. I couldn't see anything but Him. But that is exactly where God wanted me. If I'm describing where you are right now, be encouraged, and allow God to teach you to trust Him. Meditate on these verses; plant them deep in your spirit. God is taking you somewhere.
