Repackaged Praise Music
I also feel that what's happening needs to cease. I know that the band I lead does a good job with the music we use. But we make it a point to do a VERY contemporary service, and it's getting harder and harder to find good music that's both new and can be used in a worship setting. What's being presented as new is often "junk," and having the current crop of Christian artists doing covers of each others stuff is getting real old. My congregation keeps looking for us to do newer, more contemporary music. It ain't easy with the way things are.

Not everyone!
I agree wholeheartedly that worship music is being re-canned, re-mixed, and re-sold all the time, and I am equally frustrated. However, I must point out that Vineyard Music is an enormous producer of great worship music, that has not fallen into that. They have their "best of" CD's, but the vast majority of the albums they put out are made up of exclusively new stuff.
