worship is life
I have been on a journey over the last six months trying to learn how to really worship our God from the heart. I don't think that I can say that I will know all there is to know about it until I have my glorified body and I am in His presence worshiping for all eternity. (Doesn't that sound wonderful?) Until that time, I intend to do everything I can to worship Him. It seems like most peoples definition of worship is the times that you're singing to God. The worship in the church is so surface so much of the time I can hardly stand it. What's wrong with our worship? I feel like I have been given a few insights to this recently, like I said falling very short of all of Gods answers o this. It all starts with us as individuals. Our lives are meant to be totally dedicated and submitted to Him, that means everything. According to Romans 12:1, John 15:8 by living our lives the way God wants us to we are glorifying Him. That realization gave me new reason to strive to please Him in every way. I can worship Him by choosing not to sin because I know that He wants me to take His path and choosing that is worship. Every time we put God were He belongs (#1) in our lives we are glorifying Him. The first thing that I discovered that kicked off my "real" worship was worshiping through His word. Worshiping through scripture has become something I do every day. Isaiah 40-50, or many of the Psalms going through and worshiping God everytime I find an attribute of Him for worshiping. If you really put some effort into this you will bear fruit. My point is our corporate worship will be shallow until we can truly worship God in our personal time. I spent time as a believer not knowing how to worship, now that I have searched for Gods answers on this it is becoming more and more clear how can I better accomplish connecting worship.

Pleasing Worship?
I have struggled with this as a pastor. With all different kinds of forms of worship- liturgical to non-liturgical, I have wondered what "real" worship that is pleasing to God. After doing a study on worship, I realize that what is missing in worship is that peoples hearts are not prepared for worship. After studying the tabernalcle the God instructed Moses to build, I realized that one cannot come to God with sin. So many people come to church, chat, and when music starts sing praise to God, but yet they have unconfessed sin. Can God be pleased with worship by someone who does not have a pure heart? I have instututed a time at the beginning of the service for quiet reflection and confession so that God would be pleased with our worship. I would love to discuss this more with someone.

Worship is a lifestyle!
Worship is the Christian way of living.I find it hard to accept someone that call themselves true born-again spirit-filled but cannot worship. One thing we need to realise is that worship just looks good on God, He deserves it.Have you ever noticed that Man just can not do without worship? Before we came to God we were all worship one thing or the other like the stars, moon, ancestral spirits and even religion. The thing that God had to do to us was to change our focus of worship. This is what God had to do with Israel when they left Egypt, the Bible does not mention God teaching them to worship Him because Man has an inbuilt potential of worshipping.God had to warn them not to serve or worship other gods because the tendency was to leave worshipping the true God and go awhoring after foreign Gods. Worship is what we can not do when we are full of sin and unforgiveness.Worship is not what we can only do when we meet for our church services but what we are created to do.Even when the situation around us is unpermitting we are just expected to worship.Look at the story of king Jehosaphat in the book of Chronicles when the enemy came up against him.The Bible says that he and all of Israel fell down in worship and the day of battle was all worship and God gave them victory. In Acts 16 we meet Paul and Barnabas having been put in the innermost prison and chained. At midnight when they least expected the help, they chose to worship God and He delivered them.Worship is what can make your situation touch the heart of God and intervene in your situation.Have you ever wondered why in John 11 Martha and Mary said the same words to Jesus when he came to see them when Lazarus was dead but only Mary made Jesus weep? The secret is that Mary when she came to Jesus, she fell at his feet in an way of reverencing and besides she preferred to be at Jesus feet when Martha was busy thus when she presented the problem before Jesus, it touched his heart.WORSHIP MUST NOT CEASE!

Great insight on worship
I normally receive mail from from 'experiencing worship' and this article has reminded me of Jeremiah 2:13. God talks about His people forsaking the fountain of living waters and digging themselves cisterns that hold no water. I too believe God Has an opinion and often He rejects what we offer Him as worship. We need to stay in His presence and learn how to worship Him (John 4:23,24).
