Leadership challenges
Thanks for providing a valuable insight into Worship Leading. My sense is that leadership skills and development are sometimes compromised for the sake of musicianship. Its true, that we need to be skillfull at what we do. But not at the expense of giving biblical leadership. Keep up the good articles!

A Mandate to Worship
Often times we come to church and feel it is the job of the worship leader or praise team to lead us in a "pep rally" for christ. Well let me tell you something, if you didnt begin your worship at home please dont feel that there is anything that the praise leader can do for you. Your worship is personal. Your worship tells of your relationship with God. It is not the worhip leaders job to pump you up or make you feel good. When we come into the house Of God we should enter in as the psalmist said with thanksgiving and enter his courts with praise. We shoud prepare privatley for what we do publicly. We owe God praise. It is mandatory that we praise him. Praise ushers in the spirit Of God. When his spirit comes in so does healing and deliverance. To get into the presence of God it is mandatory that we praise him. Instead of coming to church and withdrawing all the time. Make some deposits. It is time to worship him like never before.

And Some of God's People Said?
Great article. I think the depth of sensitivity that makes us artists also makes us vulnerable to equally deep emotional conflict. It takes an annointed Worship Pastor to understand how to recognize conflict, and how to manage it.
As Pastors, we need to care enough to want to resolve issues and shepherd our artists spiritually, rather that side-step issues, even when that means unpleasant conflict.
