A Time for Everything! (Eccl.3:1)

Because of the tragedy in our country on Sept.11th, our Worship Team and our Pastor changed the style of our service the last two weeks to a more reflective, somber tone which focused our attention on Gods love and promises. The only upbeat praise song was "My God Reigns."

This week however, we are returning to a more praise and celebration worship time with songs like, "Open the Eyes of My Heart", "Take My Life", and "I Could sing of Your Love Forever." We feel that these and other songs will bring our focus back to dependance on God, the Christian life and praise! After all God is still sovereign!

Let the river flow
Well woorship these past Sundays have been different. My church is in a season of revival...Im not talking about a scheduled church event, but a genuine, authentic move of God. We have been singing songs like "let the river flow","My God reigns", " You deserve more".In this time of tradgedy that our country is in. We can't change the focus of our worship. It can't be so patriotic that there is no JESUS, yet we need to be sensitive to the people, and the spirit of God. This country needs the Lord to come REVIVE and HEAL.Those things and more are in the river of God....as a worship choir member I recognize that. That is why we sing "let the river flow".
all those things are in the river of God... so just let the river flow!

Last Sunday
I can't but think about our services last Sunday morning. They were like many churches, patriotic and a lot of people in attendance. What a great service ours was. The pastor first lead everyone in the Pledge to the American flag followed by the song "Battle Hymn of the Republic." Then he lead us in the Pledge to the Christian Flag followed by the song, "How Firm a Foundation." Then before the pastors message we sang "My Country Tis of Thee" and "America the Beautiful." What a beautiful service. Services like this can be so inspirational and definitely needed in times like these.

Keep It Simple
We are planning to keep the worship simple. Using songs that will help focus on God and His grace, and yet be sensitive to hurting people. We are trying to move ahead without too much disturbance from the norm. We will be conscious of what has happened and be encouraging to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We also hope to show the lost who are visiting, Christ. What a great opportunity to show a lost world that we love the Lord through our worshiping Him.
