Worship - A Biblical Definition
I agree, the author never told us what worship is. There was only one verse that he cited that mentioned worship. The Greek word translated worship in Romans 1:25 is sebazomai. It means to fear, be afraid or to honour religiously, to worship. The primary word for worship is proskuneo. It means to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence.

This Article Has the Wrong Title
OK, it's a good article, and says many good, worthwhile things (most of which are obvious), but nowhere in the article does the author give a definition of worship. What he gives, as he says in his last paragraph, is a description of what happens when we worship - we give God glory and we honor Him (to those I would add that we also submit to His will and to His life-changing power). A description is not a definition. His description tells what people do when they worship; a definition would tell what worship actually is - such as this one, by Donald Hustad of the Baptist seminary in Louisville: "the affirmative, transforming response of human beings to God's self-revealing" (Jubilate II, Hope Pub. Co., 1993) Of course, after this definition, Hustad goes on to a long chapter of explanation and description of what worship is and what it should be. That is what Ron Man should have done - give an actual definition first, then go on with the descriptive narrative. I don't know Ron Man's background, nor his accomplishments, but when I see an article like this one, a little out of focus and with a non-descriptive title, it makes me think of one who doesn't have a lot of academic background (not that academic background is the ultimate achievement, either). I could be totally wrong, but, in any case, a little more thought and a little bit of critical examination should have been given to the article, by its author and the person who posted it, because there are a few people out here in cyber-land who actually read (and think about) the articles that are posted.
