Getting out of the way
My struggle is this: I have been given the gift of my voice and musical passion for further glorify the Lord. However, I've found that, when I attend a service where the "worship leader/singer" is crazy-awesome-good, I get distracted by the vocal runs and belting! It takes my mind out of it's worshipful state, almost. However, my thought is-they are wanting and attempting to use their gift to its fullest capacity. Is that wrong? I sometimes feel like i should "dumb down" my voice to create a transparency through which people can fully experience Christ, but then again I feel like that is me NOT using my gift to the best of my ability.
However-music is art and art is created to be marveled at. So is it really WRONG to marvel at the gift? And in that case, are we worshipping the gift or the gift giver?

Just a thought.

Stephen is my son!
I am so very proud of my son, Stephen, and the ministry God has called him to. He continues to bless thousands of others through his gifts, talents, and abilities. No father could be more blessed and proud of his son than I am of mine! You will be enriched in your worship experience if you take the time to complete the study Stephen has written.
