Ouch! You know how to hit where it hurts, don't you?
Yes, you are so right. As a worship leader I am guilty of just what you have written. My husband and I are in a small church in a rural town trying to bring them up-to-date on the music scene. Me have a mixed church of young and old. The youth and young families are leaving as there is not enough there for them. We have had a 20min limit put on us for worship, no more than 4 songs. Its often difficult to lead people who don't really want to be lead in a spirit filled way, and I think you are right, perhaps they don't understand what the bible says about worship. But the pastor does, and he is not permission giving, not trusting enough to give us a free hand. So many problems, the problem is, I don't have the answers. I could go on forever here, there is just so much to tell.
