It Does Matter
I totally understand your point opinion #3. It is a fact that God looks at our hearts in worship. He doesn't care how we sound when we sing to Him. What we have to be careful of is that we don't confuse "doing" worship with "leading" worship. Psalm 33:3 says, "...we are to play skillfully". Remember that God equips those He has called. I want the best worshiping musicians in town in my church. Why? Because I want my worship to be awesome! I don't want to wonder what my piano player is going to do next. I need to know that the music is so good that there will be no distractions in worship. Don't fall into the trap that because they have a heart to lead that it's what God wants. We would never let just anyone lead and run our churches. We "hire" those who show clear giftings and are called to do it. The same hold true for all areas of ministry. Just a thought.

Just a thought
First, If a person is in a ministry and in God's will, He will supply all of your needs. Second, it's not reallly a matter of a person's playing or performing level. It's a matter of their place with God. God's anionting is by far more powerful than talent or skill. I've listened to some extremely talented piano players, but have been more blessed by, and enjoyed to a greater extent the people who know only a few chords, but because they worship him with their whole heart and, in some cases, are more humble he chooses to anionte them.

NOT AN ANGRY COME BACK. JUST A THOUGHT.

Sound Tech Pay
Along the same lines, do you pay for sound tech/engineers? Where would any modern worship service be without the sound techs? Can just *anyone* operate the equipment?
