signing covenants
First of all, when I was praise team leader and then worship pastor at a church for 9 years, we had a set of rules and guidelines very similar to the ones mentioned here. It seemed that after I set the guidelines it was then that I started having trouble with people being late and not knowing songs for example.

Now I am a member of a praise team at a different church and there are basically no guidelines other than appropriate attire and there is never a problem with dress, being on time, knowing the music etc.

I think one thing is true, that once you set the rules, people will break them, it's our nature. I think Paul addresses this issue in one of the Epistles.

Secondly I think there is no place for covenants and things of that nature in the church. Where do pastors, (whether lead pastors or worship pastors), feel they have the right to tell people what to do and make them sign covenants promising they will do things like practice, memorize, be on time, give, tithe, and so on. That's a joke. It's not biblical.

Covenant
I think it's a good idea to have a choir covenant. I was actually in the process of doing some research in order to write one for my music ministry when I found this one. Giving the opportunity for members to be held and to hold one another accountable is a good way of dimonstrating the actual "body-ness" of the body of Christ, in my opinion. May the Lord lead us and give us grace to accomplish, in this, what e desires for us. Be well.

Commitment
I think it is a good idea to have individuals express commitment to their ministry in this way. We should not be covenant breakers, and signing is an indication that one takes the ministry seriously and is prepared to make the required sacrifices.
