Know His Presence
If you’ve ever been in the country on a starry night and felt the majesty of the universe
you’ve probably experienced feeling so small and insignificant. It’s at times like this I
wonder why God didn’t leave well enough alone before He created man. He had
orchestrated a perfect world that had never been soiled by the filth of man’s sin. He had
never heard man utter curses against His name and nail His sinless Son to a cross. All
this; and yet He wanted more. More than just a puppet to bow to Him in mindless
obeisance, He wanted a relationship with this creation of His. Can you imagine how
Adam felt walking and talking with God in the Garden of Eden? It’s almost beyond our
comprehension. When we enter the gates of praise and enter His sanctuary, we can
know His presence. Not just feel, but know. He desires even today to have us talk to
Him, to respond to Him and to worship Him, not because He forces us to but because
when faced with everything God is - nothing else would be an appropriate response.
Psalm 63:1 “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my
body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”
