His Requirement, Not Ours
by Terri Pettyjohn December ,
Have you ever imagined what it would feel like to be in the presence of a King? When
we worship remember who you are talking to. It’s interesting that God requires a certain
kind of worship. Exodus tells us that when Moses was on the mountain that the people
fashioned their gold into a calf and then brought their burnt offerings to sacrifice and
presented their fellowship offerings to the Lord. Some of the right objects but the wrong
attitude combined with a very big golden no-no. Our attitude in worship must always be
one of reverence and awe, remembering who we are coming before. This is the King of
the Universe, the Great I Am, the Giver of Life, the Redeemer of Mankind, and to come
before him with nonchalance is not acceptable. That’s why it is so important to prepare
your heart to worship. If we want Him to accept our worship it must be what He requires
and on His terms.
Psalm 99:5 “Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.”
