Luke 15-17 "One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him, and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?"

Is there a sadder example of the human nature than the parable of the ten lepers? To understand the magnitude of the miracle you have to understand what a disease of solidarity leprosy was. Lepers were driven from their homes and forced to live in caves away from the general population, there was little hope of healing and usually they died in the exile. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, not only was he breaking the laws of the Jewish society but he was showing compassion to the lowest echelon of mankind. For them to have been healed was a dream far beyond any that they could have hoped for. As each went their way rejoicing only one returned to tell Jesus thank you. Stop and reflect on all the prayers that have been answered for you and see how many times you forgot to say thank you. Not only does our Father relish in our praise, but he desires our thanksgiving.
