Hear hear! Absolutely right! In the end, what will bring people to Christ is not noise, lights and shouts, but the Presence, Power and Love of God. As Tommy Tenney said in his book "The God Chasers" - "People are not hungry for church, they are hungry for God". We can give them all the lights, exitement etc that we think they want, but if they don't meet with the living God who can heal them, comfort them, and change their lives, we are wasting their time. It's our job to lead people into God's presence, not, as you say, be cheerleaders. Submitted by: YvonneM Date Added: 2009-06-22 |

Prayer In The New Testamnet Great reminder that the life we live should emulate Jesus and the praise of His name in many different ways and styles. If one looks at the New Testament use of the word prayer, it is used as a general term for adoration, bowing, singing, etc. I would take this to mean that there are various ways of expression of our worship and prayer than just kneeling and bowing. Thanks for the great article! Submitted by: wadesteele Date Added: 2009-06-15 |
