Mackie SR40•8 and SR56•8 - User Opinions

This board is so bad, that Mackie 86'd it
I have used nearly every professional console out there, over my 15 years of touring and contract installations. This board is a dud.

It's construction made it inexpensive and unreliable. I know of MANY installs where boards were constantly not working, and were even replaced by boards that did not work. NO serious touring company used them for gigs except for outdoor festivals. The boards were sold afterwards.

The things to watch out for are the mute system muting the board for no reason-due to a ribbon cable, sections of channels going out, meter lights staying on, etc. The EQ is about as good as a $3000 console, if that. Overall the board is noisy.

It was a great idea, but the company had no experience making REAL equipment of that scale. Even their largest dealers didn't like to sell them, and would discourage sales.

NEVER buy one used. You would not be a good steward with God's money.
