WORSHIP
I know that worship is for GOD alone, it is not for me or anyone else. Yet, we, as HIS children, think that it is for us to get something. At times, people manifest a false presence of GOD and people leave the church not believing in GOD. How sad.
GOD wants us to praise and worship HIM for WHO HE is and what HE's done, as well as all that HE is doing now. GOD has given us the priviledge and opportunity to worhip HIM. In return, HE gives us more wisdom,knowledge, and understanding that we will see more of WHO HE is and what HE wants from us and for us.
Simply, WORSHIP for HIM, and HIM alone.

Worship is for the worshipper too
Hi Terri,

At times I ponder if God is interested in the acts and words of worship or if He is more interested in the relationship that brings meaning and life to the worshipful acts and words. David says, "Bless the Lord, oh my soul..." God does not have to be reminded how great He is; but we must be constantly reminded how great God is. While worship is always centered on God, it mutually benefits the worshipped and worshipper by continually restoring their resopective relationships to eachother.


Thanks for your thought provoking devotionals. I likewise hope that I've added something to consider.

SERVANT
THERE IS A STORY ABOUT A FAMILY CALLED THE PHILLUP'S
THAT CAME TO CHURCH WITH EMPTY BUCKETS. DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORSHIP SERVICE THEY HELD UP THEIR BUCKETS IN HOPES OF GETTING SOMETHING FROM THE CHOIR, THE SONGS,
AND THE SERMON. WHEN THEY ARRIVED HOME, THEY PUT THEIR
BUCKETS ON THE TABLE AND DISCUSSED "HOW FULL IS YOUR BUCKET?" "YEAH I GOT SOME OF THAT IN MY BUCKET?" NO MATTER
HOW GOOD THE SERMON OR THE SINGING OR ANYTHING ELSE- THEIR
EXPERIENCE WAS- MY BUCKET IS NOT FULL. IN WORSHIP THERE
IS AN AUDIENCE AND A CONGREGATION. GOD IS IN THE AUDIENCE
AND THE CONGREGATION COMES TO WORSHIP. NOT TO GET A BUCKET
FILLED.

How true How true
It's such a common struggle in our churches to demand of worship teams an experience in worship. The truth is that when we worship God in spirit and truth He in turn blesses us. We should be coming to seek the giver of blessings and not the blessing.
